Hikaru Matsuyama
Japan

Japan's Heart

Matsuyama has become a cornerstone of his team's defence. Just before the match against Sweden, his girlfriend Yoshiko is badly injured in a traffic accident, and he turns down a starting position in order to be by her bedside. When her condition stabilizes, he rushes to the game, and helps win the match with some decisive playmaking.
